The Student Life team is responsible for the personal development, behaviour and attitude of all our Further Education students.

We directly deliver services to students - safeguarding, mental health and wellbeing are at the centre of what we do. The safeguarding team sits within the wider student life team and we work closely with curriculum departments to ensure arrangements are in place to effectively safeguard students and maintain and promote a culture of vigilance.

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated, articulate and adaptable individual who embraces restorative and relational approaches in their every day practice.

The post-holder will work with the Safeguarding Manager to promote and maintain a culture of vigilance throughout the college, ensuring it is a safe space for students, staff and visitors. The post holder, as part of the Safeguarding Leadership Team will help deliver the strategic and developmental aims of the organisation. The post holder will safeguard children, young people, vulnerable adults and other adults at risk through supporting case management and escalation to external agencies. The Team Leader will provide direct line management and supervision to a team of specialist Stay Safe Officers across Luminate's campuses. This will include performance management, appraisals and sickness monitoring.

  • Lead appropriate planning meetings within the team and across college
  • Provide specialist advice, support, mentoring and training to designated safeguarding officers, coaching tutors, curriculum staff and business support staff in assessing and dealing with safeguarding issues
  • Maintain up to date knowledge and training around safeguarding and vulnerability.
  • Work with curriculum staff and learning leaders to design and produce resources for tutorial and individual support relevant to students at different stages and phases of learning
About You
