As an Electrical Installation Technician, you will play a crucial role in supporting our electrical installation department and ensure the highest standards of practical learning for our students. Your responsibilities will include: • Preparing and maintaining workshop equipment and tools • Assisting in the delivery of practical lessons and demonstrations • Supporting students during practical sessions and assessments • Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations • Conducting routine maintenance and repairs of electrical equipment • Assisting with the setup and dismantling of practical projects • Collaborating with teaching staff to enhance the learning experience Key Responsibilities: • Set up practical areas and ensure they are ready for student use • Monitor and maintain stock levels of materials and equipment • Provide technical support during practical sessions • Maintain a clean, safe, and organised workshop environment • Support teaching staff in the development of course materials • Participate in departmental meetings and training sessions Requirements: • Relevant qualification in electrical installation or a related field • Proven experience in an electrical installation role • Strong technical knowledge and practical skills • Excellent organisational and communication skills • Ability to work independently and as part of a team • Commitment to health and safety standards • Experience in an educational setting is an advantage but not essential The successful Candidate Should Possess: - Relevant Qualifications: A recognised qualification in electrical installation or a related field (e.g., NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation, City & Guilds 2365 or equivalent). - Strong understanding of electrical principles, safety standards, and regulations. - Familiarity with modern electrical installation techniques and technologies. - Ability to manage and organize workshop areas, ensuring a safe and efficient learning environment. - Capability to monitor and manage stock levels of materials and equipment. - Effective communication skills to assist and support students and collaborate with teaching staff. - Ability to explain complex technical concepts in a clear and accessible manner. - Ability to work both independently and as part of a team. - Willingness to collaborate with colleagues to enhance the overall learning experience. - Ability to adapt to changing needs and priorities within the educational environment. - Willingness to engage in continuous professional development and stay updated with industry advancements. - Enthusiastic, proactive, and self-motivated with a passion for education and electrical installation. - Professionalism, reliability, and a positive attitude towards work and learning.
