  • West Suffolk College, Bury St Edmunds
  • 37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year - Permanent
  • Salary: £23,114 per annum - £25,979 (dependent on experience)
We prioritise hands-on learning experiences to prepare students for successful careers in the trades. As a Carpentry Technician, you will play a pivotal role in supporting our carpentry program and ensuring our students have access to top-notch resources and guidance.

In this role, you will be responsible for providing technical support and assistance to both students and staff in our carpentry workshop.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Order and prepare materials for carpentry demonstrations and projects, ensuring all necessary supplies are readily available.
  • Maintain and organise the carpentry workshop, including tools, equipment, and workspaces, to ensure a safe and efficient learning environment.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to students and staff during practical sessions and projects.
  • Develop new practical tasks and projects in collaboration with instructors to enhance the learning experience.
  • Conduct regular maintenance and inspections of carpentry tools and equipment, reporting any defects or issues promptly.
