Position: SEND Teaching Assistant

Location: Primary School on the Tower Hamlets / Hackney Borders

Start Date: ASAP

Contract: Until Christmas, with the view to extend

Salary: 90 - 100 daily

SANZA Teaching Agency is seeking a dedicated and confident SEND Teaching Assistant to join a high-needs provision in a primary school located on the Tower Hamlets and Hackney borders. This specialist provision supports 7 pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and a range of associated complex needs. The successful candidate will be joining a committed team of 3, often 4, educators who work collaboratively to provide exceptional support to this high-needs class.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide targeted support to a small group of pupils with ASC and complex needs in a primary school setting.

Implement and support strategies such as Bucket Time, Attention Autism, Makaton, and PECS to promote communication and engagement.

Work alongside the class team to deliver adapted lessons, activities, and interventions to meet the individual learning needs of each pupil.

Foster a nurturing and structured learning environment to support both the academic and emotional development of the pupils.

Assist in creating an inclusive atmosphere that promotes the pupils' independence, confidence, and overall well-being.

The Ideal Candidate Will:

Have experience working with pupils who have ASC and complex needs, particularly within a primary school environment t/ SEN setting.

Be confident in using a variety of strategies, including Bucket Time, Attention Autism, Makaton, and PECS (previous experience in these is highly desirable).

Demonstrate patience, empathy, and a positive attitude toward supporting children with SEND.

Be proactive, adaptable, and able to work collaboratively as part of a dedicated team.

Have a genuine passion for making a meaningful difference in the lives of pupils with SEND.
