North Bradford

PK Education are working with a generic special school in the North of Bradford, who are looking for a Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant to work on a temporary, full time, term time only basis. This large generic special school has a wide range of needs from Autism non-verbal to verbal, high needs ASC, Profound Multiple Learning Difficulties, Severe Learning Difficulties, Downs Syndrome and complex needs. This would ideally suit an individual who is experienced supporting individuals with special educational needs, highly flexible with hands on approach. Job Spec:

  • Support the teacher as a SEND Teaching assistant and the SEND students within the class, ensuring the needs of the students met at all times.
  • Must have experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs from early year s foundation.
  • Be prepared to get involved.
  • Build trusted relationships with the students.
  • Provide a nurturing approach to understand the student s abilities and frustrations to create a positive outcome in their learning.

Job Spec:

  • Must have minimum Level two teaching assistant or equivalent.
  • It would be an advantage if you have GNVQ level 2 Health and Social care, SEND Diploma or equivalent.
  • MAKATON, PECS, PEG FEED, HOIST TRAINED all an advantage, but not essential.
  • Must be highly enthusiastic and a highly motivated individual with a real passion for supporting children with differentiated needs.
  • Have knowledge of the children and young people on the Autistic spectrum disorder and severe learning difficulties.
  • Fully committed and adaptable.
  • Must have Valid DBS on the subscription service.
  • Be willing to have a flexible approach.
  • Competitive rates of pay between £100 - £110 per day.
