We are looking for an outstanding lecturer to join our Art & Design Department at Wigan & Leigh College. This is an exciting opportunity to join a forward-thinking, enthusiastic and highly progressive Art & Design Department. Through our programmes, we provide students with the technical skills and knowledge needed to succeed in gaining employment and become successful professionals working in the creative industries.

You will be an experienced practitioner who achieves success through the use of innovative approaches that enthuse and engage students.  You will demonstrate excellence in teaching, learning and assessment and have a proven track record of this field.

Applicants for this post should ideally have a Degree level qualification in an Art & Design related subject along with a Further Education relevant teaching qualification and have experience of teaching to current BTEC specifications (Levels 1 – 3 and Foundation Pre-Degree).

Successful applicants will demonstrate a broad-base of Art & Design and creative practical skills that will include: painting, printmaking, drawing, illustration, working in 3D, photography and the ability to lead work from diverse cultural references. Evidence of recent art-based practice is vital and a portfolio showing some examples of your personal and student work will be required at interview.
