Learning Advisor in ESOL (0.57fte)

We require a new Learning Advisor to join our highly successful ESOL team. The team provides teaching to a range of learners whose first language is not English, many of whom are looked after children or asylum seekers. You will be required to provide a range of support for students to enable them to develop their personal, social, and academic skills and ensure their success on their programme of study.

You will be required to support learners at our Barnfield Campus based in Luton. Your focus will be supporting learners both in and out of the classroom, delivering tutorial sessions and providing one to one and small group interventions.

You must be able to work well within a team and with cross college colleagues and also have the aptitude to work independently. You will have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to engage with a diverse range of students. The ability to keep accurate records is essential.

Ideally you will be educated to at least Level 3 and have already worked with 16- to 19-year-olds. Experience of working with learners whose first language isn't English, working with looked after children, and an understanding of the specific educational needs of such students within an FE setting is desirable. A proven enthusiasm for this area of work is essential for this exciting opportunity.

You'll have the full support of a dynamic team and opportunities to bring your ideas to the role. Training and development are at the heart of everything we do so you'll be actively encouraged to upskill.

This is a part time role working 26 hours per week, 36 weeks per year.

You can access a wide range of discounts and benefits through our company benefits platform as well as free on-site parking, a generous pension scheme and more.

The closing date for applications is Sunday 22 nd September 2024.

Interviews will take place week beginning 30 th September 2024.
