About us

The Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT) is a professional body for speech and language therapists (SLTs) across the UK. The RCSLT supports SLTs by providing leadership, setting professional standards, facilitating research, promoting better education, and training.

The RCSLT team consists of over 70 staff who offer support to over 21,000 members. Colleagues are predominantly based in the London office and others in Belfast, Edinburgh, and Cardiff offices.

The role

We are looking for an experienced HR Advisor to join our team until September 2025. You will lead a small, dedicated team who want the best for the staff at the RCSLT.

You will have experience managing multiple workloads and be able to effectively communicate complex HR material in a clear and concise manner. As the HR advisor, you will provide HR support and guidance to the organisation ensuring policies and practices comply with current UK employment legislation and reflect best practice.

You will be responsible for recruitment, retention, and development of staff to ensure the RCSLT attracts and retains top talent. Your role will be integral to fostering a positive and inclusive workplace culture that promotes employee engagement and well-being.

Reporting to the Director of Engagement and Communications, you will be responsible for providing HR advice and support to staff and managers as well as working closely with the HR Assistant to focus on the people strategy at the RCSLT.

What we are looking for

The ideal candidate will have good interpersonal skills, be able to work effectively within a team environment and be able to manage multiple on-going tasks. You will have experience or education in HR, experience providing HR generalist service and the ability to lead and manage HR projects to completion.
