About the Role

We are looking for dedicated Teaching Assistants to work across various curriculum areas at any of our college sites. In this rewarding role, you will assist in the planning and delivery of high-quality teaching, learning, and assessment for young people, including those with Education, Health, and Care (EHC) plans, both within and outside the classroom.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will support young learners in achieving their academic and personal goals, setting high expectations, and promoting self-esteem and independence. You will help students engage in educational activities using digital platforms like Google Classroom and assistive technology.

Your responsibilities will include maintaining a supportive learning environment in line with lesson plans, employing strategies to help young people achieve their goals, and assisting with planning and preparing learning activities. You will provide tailored teaching that progresses from basic to advanced tasks, helping learners build independence, life skills, and workplace readiness.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support learners in both classroom and independent settings.
  • Assist in using digital tools and platforms to enhance learning.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive environment that promotes independence and confidence.
  • Collaborate closely with teachers to implement effective learning strategies.
  • Help prepare resources and activities to support curriculum delivery.
Requirements:
  • Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning (or equivalent).
  • Maths and English GCSE (Grade C or Level 2) or working towards these qualifications.
  • Strong communication skills, professionalism, empathy, and flexibility to meet diverse learner needs.
  • Ability to build effective working relationships with teachers and tutors.
Department Information:

You will work closely with members of the vocational curriculum team and report directly to the Curriculum Manager, collaborating with tutors to support learners in achieving their educational goals.
