Role: Lecturer - Photography

Location: Central Bedfordshire College, Dunstable

Salary/Benefits: Salary from £31,000 (Pro Rata) DOE and Qualifications, Teachers pension, Retail and Leisure Discounts, excellent professional and personal development opportunities, accessing college courses.

Working Pattern: 29.6hrs per week (0.8 FTE) Thursday non-working day.

About the role:

We are currently seeking Photography Lecturer to join The Bedford College Group at our Central Bedfordshire College in Dunstable.

As a Lecturer in Photography you play an important role in the success of our students through:
  • Preparing, delivering, assessing and verifying subject specialisms on a range of courses and levels.
  • Supporting and guiding students to achieve success and realise their potential.
  • Managing students' learning and providing a high-quality learning experience.
  • Contributing pro-actively to developments in the Centre in curriculum development and innovative teaching.
  • Participating in marketing and promotion activities to support a range of programmes and learning opportunities.
About you:

Ideal candidates will have:
  • Level 3 relevant qualification
  • Willingness to achieve Certificate in Education or equivalent
  • Willingness to achieve Assessor/Verifier qualifications
  • English and mathematics or similar at GCSE grade A-C or equivalent or willingness to achieve English and mathematics Level 2 within one year
  • Recent experience of teaching and assessing on a range programmes and levels
  • Knowledge of the current developments in own specialist area
  • Evidence of understanding how to promote equality and diversity within the job role
  • Willingness continuously to update skills and knowledge
  • Ability to demonstrate strong interpersonal and influencing skills at all levels
  • Ability to communicate effectively and confidently face to face, on the telephone and in writing
  • Willingness to work at all locations where Bedford College provide a service
  • Current driving licence and access to a vehicle
