Equine Yard Assistant - part time

About the role as a Equine Yard Assistant:

Activate Learning have an exciting opportunity for a Equine Yard Assistant to join our team based at Merrist Wood College in Worplesdon, Guildford. This is a part time (15 hours per week), permanent role.

You will provide day-to-day care of the horses/ponies on the equine yard and assist with exercise routines for a range of college horses.

You will also assist in the delivery of commercial courses or activities, as well as providing supervision of students/visitors when on the college yard.

A successful candidate will be flexible and be able to commit to one weekend day per week or alternative weekends on a rota.

What do you need to be successful in this role?

The successful candidate will have experience of working on a professional equine yard and have an appropriate professional or vocational qualification at Level 3 or above. You will have a BHS Stage 2 Care, Riding, Lunge or be willing to work towards this. There will be the opportunity to progress and take additional qualifications if desired.

You will be a pro-active, organised team player, with excellent communication skills and a flexible working approach.
