We have an exciting new role within our Personal Development team across the Inspire Education Group (based across Peterborough College and Stamford College).

The role is to support the Assistant Principal Student Experience and Support in the leading of a team of Student Mentors. You will work collaboratively with the Personal Development Coordinators on both college sites.

The role will require you to lead on the intent, implementation and impact of a responsive and current Personal Development (tutorial) Programme that develops and prepares students across the group for future success and their next steps.

Student Mentors are responsible for planning and delivering weekly Personal Development sessions (tutorials) and for providing front line pastoral support for a caseload of students.  A priority of the role is to track and monitor student attendance.

The Personal Development Group Lead will be expected to work collaboratively with Heads of Department; Welfare and Engagement; Careers, and Curriculum Teams to support the overall IEG Personal Development Strategy for all IEG students.

Ideally, you will have experience of working in the Further Education sector or with young people in a supportive role.

The successful candidate should hold a minimum of a Level 3 teaching qualification (or be willing to work towards) and maths and English qualifications at a Level 2 as a minimum requirement.  A degree level qualification is desirable for the role.

In order to be successful in this role the ideal candidate will possess excellent organisational skills, with a good attention to detail in terms of quality assurance.  Interpersonal skills are also a key attribute of the successful candidate as you will be working with colleagues across the campus

IEG benefits

IEG offers many good employment benefits including 30 days annual leave, plus Christmas close down, access to the Local Government Pension scheme, and many on-site benefits and facilities, including a gym, free on-site parking and on-site nursery (Peterborough only). We also offer many training and development opportunities.

How to apply

IEG is actively committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children, young people and any vulnerable groups within the college community and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
