Vocational Trainer/Assessor - Foundation Learning

This role is part-time role, working 29.6 hours per week.

Day to day duties

  • Delivering high quality vocational interventions that includes ambitious targets for learners maximising the impact and development of sustainable outcomes through classroom teaching, small group and one-to-one interventions, observations and reviews.
  • Plan, arrange and review innovative interventions that include ambitious targets for all learners maximising the impact and the development of sustainable outcomes ensuring the successful implementation of the SEND Code of Practice.
  • Carrying out a wide range of initial, formative and summative assessments to establish support needs and starting points, which are clearly mapped and track progress.
  • Proactively facilitating opportunities for learners to develop their independence, improve their communication skills and make relevant personal choices and decisions.

Required skills and qualifications

  • A professional qualification that is appropriate to the work or SEND Specialism e.g. Foundation Degree in Inclusive Practice or other specialist qualification.
  • Relevant successful SEND experience.
  • Evidence of previous success in gaining employment outcomes with learners with SEND.
  • All candidates must possess a recognised specialist qualification or be prepared to gain (with the assistance of the College) a qualification within the first two years of service.
