Sports Lecturer Manager

Job Description: Sports ManagerCollege in Loughton Purpose of the Job:

  • Manage courses and defined operational issues within the Directorate.
  • Conduct line-management duties, including performance development reviews, observations, and budget control.
  • Teach between 288-400 hours per annum, excluding occasional cover for canceled classes, subject to operational demands and specific responsibilities.
  • Teach at other campuses as required.
  • Deputize for the Group Curriculum Director as necessary.
Main Tasks and Responsibilities:General Responsibilities: 1.1 Support the College's mission, vision, values, and strategic objectives. 1.2 Implement the College's Equality and Diversity policies and actively work to overcome discrimination based on all protected characteristics, including sex, race, religion/belief, disability, sexual orientation, age, pregnancy/maternity, gender reassignment status, and marriage/civil partnership status. 1.3 Take responsibility for personal professional development and participate in relevant internal and external activities. 1.4 Implement the College's safeguarding policies and practices. 1.5 Implement the College's health and safety policies and practices. 1.6 Contribute to the College's commitment to continuous improvement as identified in the College's charter and quality assurance systems. 1.7 Ensure that data is handled in compliance with the General Data Protection Regulations.Managing Operations: 2.1 Contribute to the development of the Programme, including curriculum development and innovative delivery methods. 2.2 Oversee the learning, progress, and conduct of students on designated courses. 2.3 Support the development, implementation, and monitoring of quality standards and specifications for courses. 2.4 Organize the day-to-day operations of courses in the Programme Area. 2.5 Address staffing matters that affect service delivery in accordance with College policies and procedures. 2.6 Monitor syllabi, schemes of work, and learning outcomes for designated programs/courses. 2.7 Ensure effective student assessment and accreditation arrangements, including exams, internal verification, and student feedback/reporting. 2.8 Ensure effective course and student monitoring arrangements, including regular course team meetings for identified courses. 2.9 Teach appropriate courses within the College's program. 2.10 Participate in the selection, interviewing, admissions, enrollment, induction, and tracking of students. 2.11 Act as a leader/member of appropriate teams and liaise with colleagues in the design, delivery, and evaluation of all aspects of the provision. 2.12 Liaise with partner organizations, other programs, and external agencies as appropriate. 2.13 Advise on market research, publicity, and the promotion of the Programme Area's courses. 2.14 Write reports on the work of the programs for various audiences. 2.15 Ensure the implementation of the College's equal opportunities policies within the program and uphold the College's Charter and complaints system.Managing Finance: 3.1 Assist in the management, monitoring, and control of expenditure within a cost center, ensuring compliance with College and funding body guidelines. 3.2 Assist in planning staffing requirements for the curriculum area and manage the appropriate staffing budgets. 3.3 Authorize the purchase of necessary apparatus, equipment, and materials within the cost center budget. 3.4 Initiate and participate in schemes to generate funds from external sources and manage them as appropriate.Managing People: 4.1 Assist in the recruitment and selection of lecturers. 4.2 Ensure new staff receive appropriate induction and support. 4.3 Manage individual staff performance through support, management, and observation in accordance with College policy. 4.4 Identify the training and development needs of staff and coach them to achieve their full potential. 4.5 Contribute to the staff development program for the College. 4.6 Assist in the development of effective course and curriculum teams.Managing Information: 5.1 Stay updated on national, regional, and local developments in Further Education. 5.2 Provide statistical data on all aspects of the program as required. 5.3 Help forecast demand for new courses. 5.4 Ensure the maintenance of accurate class, student, and financial records. 5.5 Evaluate the service provided through performance indicators, assisting the GCD in producing an annual Self-Assessment Report.Location:
