Learning Support Assistant - SEMH - Canterbury

Tradewind is actively recruiting a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join our team in Canterbury, assisting pupils with SEMH. This role is available for an immediate start and is full-time. It is a temporary long-term position with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Provide focused support to students with SEMH needs, creating a positive and inclusive learning environment.
• Work collaboratively with teachers and staff to implement personalised strategies for individual students.
• Deliver one-on-one support and small group interventions to aid academic and social development.
• Foster a nurturing and positive atmosphere to promote emotional well-being and resilience.
• Serve as a mentor and role model, encouraging positive behaviour and social skills.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate effectively with parents and colleagues.

Requirements:

• Prior experience working with students with SEMH needs is beneficial but not mandatory.
• Understanding of SEMH and its effects on learning and behavior.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to adapt to a dynamic school environment.
• Relevant qualifications or a willingness to undergo training.
• This position requires an Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable), and professional reference checks.
• Legal right to work in the UK.
