The Bedford College Group is seeking to appoint a skills champion to drive forward our WorldSkills 'Centre of Excellence' skills program across the group. We are looking for an enthusiastic individual with exceptional interpersonal skills who can implement the roll out of training in skills development to staff within the group. You will arrange the appropriate training across the group with the intention of ensuring all participating curriculum teams are trained and adept in preparing learners for competition and raising standards pedagogy. You will also be the main contact for the college with the WorldSkills centre of excellence coaches.

The aims of the role will be to increase participation in skills competitions including internal, regional, sector based and WorldSkills, improve engagement and outcomes across all competition engagement in line with agreed KPI's and to improve teaching and learning practices embedding excellence and skills into our curriculum's programs across the group.

This role will be an initial fixed term 2-year addition to current job role and comes with 6 hours of teaching remission and £6000 uplift of current salary. The candidate must be willing to travel and willing to work with departments across the college group.
