Adult Support Mentor (Reduced Year, Part-Time)

About the Role

This is a part-time, reduced-year role: 30 hours per week, 39 weeks per year.

We are looking for an Adult Support Mentor to join the Learner Experience Department at Keighley College. You will be responsible for a caseload of students with SEND needs and will act as the main point of contact for them while they are enrolled at Leeds City College.

What You Will Do
  • To assist with transition into, through and out of Keighley College for the caseload of students who have SEND, working collaboratively with Schools, parents and other partners.
  • To deliver an agreed number of hours of direct support within the classroom for students who have been assessed as having support needs.
  • Maintain accurate, precise and timely records of support provided for students who have SEND needs and progress being made or interventions needed.
  • To complete medical plans. PEEPS and risk assessments.
  • Attend SEND team, cross-college and external meetings as required.
  • Attend continuous professional development activities as required and ensure best practice is disseminated within teams
About You
  • Good organisational /communication skills.
  • Ability to work with a team and also to work independently when required.
  • The ability to adapt to change in demands on a day-to-day basis.
  • Experience working with colleagues in a cross-departmental/multi-disciplinary delivery role.
  • Good level of computer literacy.
