Head of Estates
Salary: Up to £60,000 per annum
Location: Wigan & Leigh College
 

Wigan & Leigh College is seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to join our team as the Head of Estates. As the Head of Estates, you will play a crucial role in delivering the College Estates Strategy and ensuring the effective operational delivery of our Estates service. This is an exciting opportunity to lead the way in developing and maintaining a highly efficient Estates service and Health and Safety strategy.
 

Main Responsibilities:
You will contribute to the development of the College Estates Strategy and ensure effective operational delivery including responsibility for ensuring the programme of compliance and planned maintenance across the College.  The role is the lead on the Sustainability and Net Carbon Zero agenda across the College, delivering the required actions to meet Net Carbon Zero targets.

The Head of Estates will lead and manage the staff of the Estates Department, fostering an efficient and effective team with a customer-focused culture, be responsible for site security and emergency evacuations and monitor and review all policies and procedures within the College for Health, Safety and Estates and Premises Management.
 

Applicant Requirements:
To be considered for this position, candidates should possess the following qualifications and skills:
 

• Qualification in a relevant discipline, such as built environment, Mechanical/Electrical.
• Experience of leading and managing a team in an Estates/Building environment.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
• Working knowledge of relevant current legislation and statutory requirements across Estates, Facilities Management, and Health & Safety.
