Up to 35 hours per week, fixed term to 31st July 2025

This is an exciting opportunity to share your professional knowledge and expertise in order to support our Health and Social Care students, and aspiring Health & Social Care professionals achieve in their chosen field through the Apollo Project, with Suffolk New College.

The Apollo Project is an NHS East of England project run in conjunction with the Integrated Care Board and aims to support recruitment and retention within the Health & Social Care sector through a range of themes.

To meet the objectives of the Apollo project, you will work alongside the Health and Social Care teaching staff and Suffolk New College’s Project team. You will work both onsite at the college and in placement settings with learners and employers, where you will be required to train, assess, support and guide learners and Health Care professionals with a particular emphasis on skills development. We are keen to hear from you if you can demonstrate enthusiasm and passion for Health and Social Care, and have the ability to encourage and inspire young people. In addition to this, you will be responsible for the organising of student placements, requiring strong organisational skills, IT literacy, and the interpersonal and communication skills to work collaboratively with employers.

You should have relevant and up-to-date industry experience supported by a Level 3 qualification in a relevant field, along with a Level 2 qualification (or equivalent) in Maths and English. You will require an Assessors qualification and a qualification in Internal Quality Assurance or a willingness to obtain this within 12 months.

In return we can offer you a team environment that is committed to giving our students the best experience possible to enable them to work competently and confidently out in industry.

If you are looking to move into education as part of your career plan, or you may have industry related skills and experience which could be transferrable, providing you are the right candidate for the job, we will provide you with an excellent level of support to guide you through your training and development and to gain the required qualifications.

Due to the nature of this role access to personal transport is essential in order to travel to students' workplaces. If using your own vehicle, it is a requirement for your car insurance to cover business use and evidence of this will be requested by finance before any travel claims are paid.

Suffolk New College is a multi-campus site therefore you may be required to work at and travel between campuses.

At Suffolk New College, we promote the culture of BeSNC. Implementing BeSNC is not just a choice; it's a commitment to providing the best possible environment for our learners to thrive. It's a commitment to nurturing an inclusive and supportive community where each student, staff and community member can reach their full potential.
