About the role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an outstanding individual to lead the Progress and Pastoral team as a Head of Pastoral Studies at Eccles Sixth Form which is a Centre of Vocational and Technical Excellence. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of outstanding teaching and learning, possess a relevant teaching qualification and a strong commitment to student success and support. You will also have a sound understanding of the range of issues facing young people and how this affects their capacity to learn. If successful you will be the Safeguarding Lead with overall responsibility for Safeguarding at the centre and will be part of the College Leadership Team.

Having a proven track record in delivering strategies which effectively motivate and engage students you will work alongside Deputy Heads of Department, Heads of Department and the Centre Principal to implement retention, achievement and progression strategies. You will be a solution focused individual with an ability to motivate and lead other colleagues and communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders to safeguard and support learners. As a Head of Pastoral Studies, you also will lead the pastoral team in inspiring every learner to achieve a successful outcome both academically and socially as well as coordinating the enrichment opportunities at the centre. You will have a passion to co-ordinate positive destinations and ensure every learner has a wide variety of career / university opportunities and will be responsible to report on the successful destination of our learners. The post will suit an individual who strives for excellence and relishes the opportunity to ensure that all of our students are able to achieve their true potential.
