SEND Learning Support Assistant (Post-16)

A sixth-form college in Kings Cross with a large provision for students who have just left secondary school and taking on vocational courses. Some students have SEN, however, only moderate needs. This may include autism and ADHD. Most students have progressed from mainstream school.

The Role

In this role you will be supporting students from 16-25 years old who have progressed from mainstream and SEND Secondary schools. All students require continuous support throughout the day and you will be working with them on a 1:1 or 2:1 basis. Students who attend the provision will require support across various subjects that include GCSE Maths and English, as well as vocational courses such as Construction and Plumbing.

This position is split between two college sites. Your days will be scheduled between supporting students at the Kings Cross and Westminster college sites.

The Centre

This specialist centre is based in Kings Cross and is part of a larger post-16 London college. There is a dedicated and experienced management and staff team in place at the centre and they have excellent training and development programmes. The centre operates during term-time only and is easily accessible via public transport.

The Centre are open to applications from both experienced learning support assistants/support workers and those with a positive and caring attitude looking to pursue a career supporting young people.
