About the Role

The Creative Arts department at Pendleton Sixth Form are seeking to employ an experienced, well qualified and enthusiastic teacher of fashion and textiles.

The successful candidate will have a proven ability to lead curriculum delivery at level 3. Working as part of a team they will be responsible for planning, delivery and assessment on one of our UAL awarding body diplomas and extended diplomas.

The ideal candidate will have experience of: Course management; tutorial support for high achievement; scaffolding learning across two-year level 3 courses; supporting the higher education application process including UCAS and portfolio preparation; embedding digital skills in the design process. In addition, they will have strong design, garment construction, drawing and visual recording skills and good knowledge of a range of textiles processes for example printmaking, 3D processes, fabric manipulation techniques and laser cutting. Strong applicants for this role will have broader skills to draw upon including digital working (ideally the use Adobe software as well as using remote working tools such as MS Teams to enhance student engagement), strong planning skills, be an excellent communicator and motivator, and able to engage students in contextual enquiry and research to support ideas development resulting in strong, confident art and design outcomes.
