Wirral Metropolitan College is looking for a Director of People and OD to join our Senior Leadership Team. This is a 35 hours per week, full-time, permanent role offering a salary of £68,305 per annum.

Key Responsibilities:

To provide strategic leadership and management for the People and Organisational Development functions, helping to create an environment where employees thrive, feel valued and can reach their full potential. This role will be an effective and collaborative member of the Senior Leadership Team, providing insights and advice on people and organisational development to ensure the College against its 2024-2027 Strategic Plan, and particularly the People Pillar.

The Director of People and Organisational Development will champion a culture grounded in Equity, Diversity and Inclusion ensuring the College strives to be a safe place to work for everyone. They will also lead efforts to build a high-performing, and collaborative work environment, promoting collective leadership principles, improving employee recruitment, and challenging HR policies and processes.

The post holder will add value by leading an efficient and proactive HR service to the College and its employees and to be a key member of the strategic leadership team in all people related matters. This role is responsible for ensuring that the Wirral Met People Strategy is effectively deployed and developed aligned to the Strategic Plan.

Collaboration is key, this role will work closely with all Directors to develop and deliver strategies across the people management and organisational development remit, with the aim of raising aspirations, and achieving high quality performance across the college supporting delivery of the Strategic Plan.

Skills and Qualifications:
  • Membership of appropriate professional bodies
  • Degree or equivalent
  • Evidence of recent continuous professional development
  • Proven strategic and operational leadership skills and a track record of motivating and developing a high performing team and influencing at cross organisational level. Ability to inspire, motivate and influence a large, diverse workforce
