What You'll Do:
  • Liaising with designated Faculty area on support matters, attending curriculum meetings and maintaining strong communication to manage the requirements of SEND legislation
  • Manage a team of ALS support staff, coordinating support allocation across skills for Working, Living including those with multiple learning disabilities and those who have difficulties engaging in education.
  • Leading and providing supervision for team members providing support to learners, ensuring the provision of good quality support at all times
  • Coordinating timetables for the Support Team, ensuring effective use of staff resource, monitoring and reviewing where necessary and responding to changing student needs throughout the year
  • Providing and or coordinating training for team members and across the college as required maintaining staff development records to contribute to planning
  • Line management duties including carrying out probations, performance management, staff inductions, attendance meetings (RTW's) and appraisals in line with college processes

Who We're Looking For:
  • Supporting individuals with the diverse range of learning difficulties and or disabilities
  • Assessing individual support needs and making appropriate support recommendations
  • Carrying out supervision of staff and giving feedback
  • Line management of others including recruitment, performance management, attendance management, disciplinary and grievance issues
  • Learning needs and barriers faced by individuals with learning difficulties and or disabilities
  • Level 3 qualification in Leadership and Management
  • IOSH Managing Safely qualification
  • Minimum of Level 2 Literacy and Numeracy (GCSE English Language and Maths (Grade C/4 or above) or other Level 2 equivalent qualifications
  • Support strategies for maximising independence
