Technician Trainer - Construction Trades

We are excited to offer a dynamic opportunity for a talented and dedicated Technician Trainer in the Construction trades to join our vibrant college community. In this key role, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the futures of our students by delivering high-quality practical support and assistance to staff and learners on Construction programmes within the College.
What You'll Do:
  • Help and assist lecturing staff in providing and undertaking practical and vocational learning activities for learners.
  • Provide training and/or coaching in appropriate disciplines (including skills for life) to a range of learners on their selected programme or training.
  • Make assessments of student competence against pre-determined criteria.
  • Train on a range of accredited programmes, as required, to deliver the learning aims of students. This will be achieved through one-to-one tutorial, classroom style workshops, observations and reviews of students in college.
  • Check, maintain and where possible repair equipment.
  • Maintain a clean, safe and well-organised environment in the workshop.
  • Assist in the operation and maintenance of files, both manual and computerised.
  • Maintain stock levels and provide accurate and current inventories of tools, equipment and materials as required by your Line Manager.
  • Engender a strong team ethos, which promotes a positive, can-do attitude across the department.
  • Maintain excellent standards of customer care and provide a flexible and responsive service to all users.
  • Contribute to the development of IEG Group's Strategic Aims, Objectives and Values.

Who We're Looking For:
  • Experience in the construction industry
  • Experience of using relevant equipment and materials
  • Proven record of organising and maintaining store rooms to an appropriate standard
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with internal and external contacts
  • Level 2 qualification in relevant subject area
  • Minimum of Level 2 Literacy and Numeracy (GCSE English Language and Maths
  • Detailed, consistent and accurate record keeping
  • Excellent planning, organisation and administrative skills
