SEND Higher Level Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our client school at a Special Education school in Gainsborough, Lincolnshire. Our client school is dedicated to providing the best possible education for pupils with complex needs, including Autism, learning difficulties, physical disabilities and challenging behaviour.

As an Special Educational Needs HLTA, you will be responsible for teaching engaging and effective lessons to support the learning and development of their pupils. This will be to work across the school, delivering various cover lessons on a full time basis (Monday to Friday). You will work closely with other members of the teaching team and support staff to ensure that the needs of each individual pupil are met. You will also have the opportunity to collaborate with parents and other professionals to ensure that our pupils receive the best possible support.

The ideal Special Educational Needs HLTA will have:

  • Experience teaching in SEND settings and have a good understanding of complex needs and challenging behaviour
  • Strong classroom management skills and the ability to create a positive learning environment
  • A passion for teaching and a desire to make a positive impact on students' lives and foster a love of learning
  • Be able to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of a diverse student population
  • This position is subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional reference checks
  • Your CV must cover the last 10 years of employment history where possible and any employment breaks must be explained
  • You must have the legal right to work in the UK
