Location: North Leeds

Start: September / October 2024

Hours: 6.30am to 2.30pm Monday to Friday (Term Time Only)

Pay: £11.59 - £11.98 per hour (equivalent to Term Time Only salary of £18,191) all pay subject to increases

We are delighted to be working with a modern secondary school based in the North of Leeds who are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic SIte Assistant / Facilities Assistant to join them from September / October.

The role of Site Assistant is available on a long term basis (Term Time Only) with options for a Permanent posting should the role be right for you.

Key aspects of the role:

  • Ensuring our school grounds are maintained to a high standard
  • Assist with minor/simple repairs e.g. minor plumbing, changing light bulbs, unblocking drains, repairing door furniture
  • Work with our external contractors on specialist projects
  • Lock/unlock school buildings and areas
  • Assist with regular security checks
  • Operate alarm systems where appropriate
  • Cover lettings
  • Operation of heating plant, cooling and lighting systems
  • Collect and assemble waste for collection
  • Undertake cleaning duties including graffiti removal, litter-picking
  • Undertake emergency cleaning duties
  • Undertake routine client tasks in connection with premises-related contractors, e.g. cleaning, grounds maintenance
  • Provide emergency access to the school site
  • Undertake activities to maintain safe and clean external environment e.g. gritting
  • Assist with the maintenance of specialist sports equipment, where applicable, following specialist training
  • Undertake basic record keeping as directed
  • Assist with the receipt, distribution, collection and despatch of goods

About you:

  • Previous experience in a similar role
  • Able to provide references and to undergo mandatory pre-employment checks such as DBS, Right to Work and any medical assessment
  • Available for interviews at your earliest convenience
