Food Technology Teacher - Part Time


Job Title: Part-Time Food Technology Teacher
Location: Blackburn, Lancashire
Contract: Part-Time, 3 days per week
Start Date: October 24
The Role:
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Part-Time Food Technology Teacher to join our client. The successful candidate will deliver engaging and practical Food Technology lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4. This is an excellent opportunity for a teacher who is enthusiastic about food education, enjoys working with young people, and is committed to developing their skills in food preparation, nutrition, and healthy eating.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality Food Technology lessons in line with the national curriculum.
  • Teach students practical cooking and food preparation skills, as well as theoretical knowledge of nutrition and food safety.
  • Inspire creativity and independent thinking through engaging lesson plans.
  • Ensure a safe and well-organised classroom, adhering to health and safety guidelines.
  • Assess and track pupil progress, providing constructive feedback to support their development.
  • Contribute to the wider work of the Design and Technology Department and assist with extracurricular activities where necessary.


Essential Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Experience teaching Food Technology at secondary school level (Key Stages 3 and 4).
  • Strong understanding of food preparation, nutrition, and health and safety regulations.
  • Excellent classroom management and organisational skills.
  • Ability to engage and motivate pupils of all abilities.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.


Desirable:

  • Experience teaching GCSE Food Preparation and Nutrition.
  • Familiarity with current exam board specifications for Food Technology.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
