Teaching Assistant Key Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will work alongside teachers to provide tailored support to students, particularly those with Special Educational Needs (SEN). As a Learning Support Assistant, your primary responsibility will be to assist students on a one-to-one basis or in small groups, ensuring they are engaged and making progress within the classroom setting. You will play a key role in implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behavioural support strategies, working closely with the class teacher and SEN team to adapt lesson plans and materials to meet the diverse needs of students.
In addition to academic support, you will also focus on the social and emotional development of the students, helping them to build confidence, manage their behaviour, and develop positive learning habits. You will monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers, ensuring that each child is meeting their individual targets. This role requires patience, empathy, and strong communication skills, along with a commitment to creating an inclusive, supportive environment where all students feel valued.
