We are looking for a full-time Head Grounds Operative to join our busy Estates team working across both the Peterborough and Stamford campuses. The successful candidate will be reliable, positive and demonstrate a flexible approach to working.

The Estates team are responsible for the delivery of services that ensure the physical environments provided to employees, students and visitors support the provision of an outstanding learning experience.

The role varies on a daily basis so you will need to be prepared to get stuck in to a range of tasks. You will be helping to prepare and maintain the playing surfaces for sports day to day as well as ensuring that the site is tidy and clear of rubbish and debris to ensure health and safety standards are met and is to a high standard. Ongoing duties will include planning, implementing, monitoring and evaluating all grounds related work (e.g. playing fields, landscaping and facilities development projects) across the college site.

You will require a Level 3 qualification in a relevant trade and Level 2 in English and Maths. You should also have experience of working as a team and knowledge of health and safety and fire management procedures. You must also have working knowledge of all Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). In addition, you will need to hold a full, clean driving license.

It is expected that you will have good written and oral skills to enable you to maintain accurate record keeping and general correspondence. You should also have excellent interpersonal skills, be good at problem solving, and have the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
