Innovation Literacy Co-ordinator

The Manchester College is looking to appoint an Innovation Literacy Co-ordinator on a fixed term (until March 2025), full time (35 hours per week) basis.

This role is funded by Innovate UK as part of the Greater Manchester Further Education Innovation programme (GMFEIP).

The primary objective of the Innovation Literacy Co-ordinator is to equip apprentices who are employed in local businesses with knowledge and confidence to support innovative practice within their business and empower them to become 'Apprentice Innovation Ambassadors'.

In order to do this role, you will need:

  • Level 4 or relevant experience.
  • Maths and English Grade C/4 or above.
  • Valid driving license and ability to travel in the borough on a regular basis and across GM on occasional basis.
  • Experience in coordinating training programs or educational initiatives, preferably within the apprenticeship sector.
  • Experience of working with businesses to identify opportunities for training, growth, and increased productivity through innovation.
  • Experience of working with apprentices.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret market trends effectively.
  • Excellent communication and facilitation abilities, with a knack for inspiring creativity and collaboration.
  • Familiarity with digital tools and technologies relevant to education, training, and business innovation.
  • A passion for driving positive change and fostering a culture of innovation within the business community.
  • Experience of managing multiple stakeholders from a range of sectors.
  • Evidence of CPD relevant to the role and continued commitment to personal CPD.
  • Ability to multitask and track projects performance.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence various stakeholders.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and requirements.
  • Creative thinking and problem-solving skill.
  • Familiarity with social media analytics and engagement strategies.
  • Networking and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to use technology platforms for event management and community engagement.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications.
