About the role as a Foundation Teacher:
We are now looking for an enthusiastic and inspiring teacher to join our Lifeskills faculty to deliver foundation level classes at Reading College.
The Lifeskills team work to support learners who face barriers to education, including learners with special educational needs, asylum seekers and refugees. You'll be teaching on our 16-19 (age range) provision with learners who are currently at foundation level, including English and/or Maths, careers, wellness, digital and tutorial sessions.
This post provides an excellent opportunity for a teacher with passion and drive who is committed to enabling learners to unlock their potential and switch on to the power of learning.
This is a fixed-term, part-time role working 14.7 hours per week (0.4 FTE) until July 2025. Timetabling is flexible for the right candidate.
What do you need to be successful as a Foundation Teacher at Activate Learning?
We are looking for people who can act as role models for our students and ensure that they leave us with not just their professional qualifications, but the attributes required to progress in the world of work. A genuine interest in working with and developing young people is a requirement.
Successful candidates will have experience in teaching employability skills, Wellness/Attributes, Project Based Learning or Digital Skills, and the enthusiasm to share this sector knowledge with our foundation level students.
Whilst previous teaching experience or qualification would be an advantage, it is not a requirement. As long as you have the industry experience and demonstrate the attributes to be an inspirational teacher, we can provide you with the necessary training, development and support to equip you to teach in the FE sector.
