About the role

The Pastoral Team at Worsley College is a highly skilled, dynamic team that works with students, parents and professionals to help young people to overcome barriers to education and to assist them in continued personal development. They provide pastoral support for students on a range of courses from pre-entry to level 4. The successful applicant will have a proven track record of employing strategies that engage and motivate learners with a diverse range of needs. You will be pro-active in monitoring attendance, achievement and progress and will be skilled in implementing supportive interventions and, where necessary, sanctions. You will have a good understanding of pastoral need and current issues faced by young people and will continually contribute to the college's ethos of high expectations. As a Pastoral Coach, you will work alongside curriculum teams to break down barriers and ensure that all learners are able to achieve and make good academic and social progress. You will have the skills to deliver high-quality group and one-to-one meetings which ensure the achievement and progress of every learner. Knowledge and experience of Safeguarding is desirable and experience in chairing professional meetings would be advantageous.
