About the role:
Activate Learning are currently recruiting a Dog Day Care Supervisor to supervise dog day care assistants and students as they care for multiple dogs in the Merrist Wood Dog Day Care area to oversee dog play, breaks, maintain a clean facility, and interact with clients.
Your responsibilities will include overseeing the care and interaction assistants give to dogs in our care, and ensuring that daily checks and cleaning are carried out. You will always ensure level of play is controlled by maintaining visual observation of the daycare.
This is a permanent, part-time contract, working 10 hours per week on Mondays, with additional hours available to cover when required. As the business develops and grows the opportunity to take on more hours may be available.
What do you need to be successful as a Dog Day Care Supervisor?
Our Dog Day Care Supervisor role is ideal for someone passionate about dogs of all breeds, ages and size, wishing to develop their experience in a safe and friendly environment.
The successful candidate will have experience of working with dogs and an animal related qualification at Level 3 or above, and preferably a Level 5. You'll need an understanding of health issues in dogs, infection control and Health and Safety issues and procedures.
We're looking for candidates who have demonstrable experience of a high standard of canine handling skills, good communication and customer service, preferably in a team environment.
The ideal candidate will have experience in animal behaviour, canine related professional development and canine first aid. Previous experience in a supervisory role would be desirable.
