We are recruiting a Lecturer in Games Development and Computing to join Hertford Regional College, to help deliver an outstanding learner experience and be inspirational to students at our state of art facilities in Broxbourne and Ware.

About The Role

We are seeking a passionate Lecturer in Games Development and Computing to join the team.

As Lecturer in Games Development and Computing, you will teach inspiring lessons to maximise the progress, development, and employability of our Games and/or students.

The successful applicant will deliver the full range of professional services associated with programmes of teaching, learning, assessment, and student support within the overall framework of arrangements and quality standards established by the college.

About You

You will have an interest in teaching Games Development and Computing across provisions from Level 1 to 3.

You should have a relevant subject degree/HND and proven interest in this subject specialism.

The ideal candidate will be confident in at least two of the following areas:
  • Gameplay design (Worldbuilding, gameplay loops, gameplay mechanics, grey-boxing)
  • 3D Modelling (3DS Max or Blender)
  • Maxon Zbrush (Sculpting/Organic Modelling)
  • Adobe Substance Painter/Designer
  • Unreal Engine 5 (Environment Art or Blueprints (C++))
  • Project Management (Microsoft Project)
  • Rigging and Animation (3DS Max, Blender or Unreal Engine 5)
  • QA Testing (Smoke testing, debugging)
You will display a passion for teaching and enjoy interacting and engaging with students. You will work collaboratively with colleagues whilst using your own initiative. You will have great interpersonal and organisation skills and be highly competent in using IT systems.
