Physio/Sports Therapist

About the Role: Physio/Sports Therapist

In partnership with Trail finders Women, Activate Learning is seeking an enthusiastic, ambitious, and dedicated physiotherapist or sports therapist to join its rugby programme.

In this role, you'll play a vital part in supporting the programme’s goal of establishing a top-tier performance development pathway for young rugby players with professional aspirations. Collaboration is key, and you will work closely with other physiotherapists, strength and conditioning coaches, as well as our coaching and management teams.

Alongside the physiotherapy responsibilities, you will also serve as a residential warden. This involves providing pastoral support to our residential students, creating a safe and welcoming environment for 16-19 year-olds. You’ll not only ensure their safety but also contribute to social enrichment by organizing activities such as pool tournaments, film nights, or wellbeing talks. As part of this role, you will work an out-of-hours shift pattern as part of an on-call rota alongside the rest of the team, on a 4 days on, 2 days off schedule, with weekend shifts as required based on rugby fixtures.

This is a fixed term opportunity located at Harcourt Hill site in the City of Oxford. For further information please email to arrange an informal conversation.

What do you need to be successful in this role as Physio/Sports Therapist?

The ideal candidate will prioritise student wellbeing, with a strong emphasis on safeguarding. You should be well-organised, adaptable, and able to remain calm under pressure.

In this key role supporting the development of aspiring rugby players, your ability to deliver compassionate and professional care to injured athletes, ensuring they receive the appropriate treatment and rehabilitation for a safe return to play, is essential.

A degree in physiotherapy, along with active registration with professional bodies such as CSP, HCPC, BASRAT, or SST, is preferred. While a pitch-side qualification is advantageous, it is not mandatory.

Training related to the residential warden responsibilities will be provided internally.
