Higher & Degree Apprenticeship Outreach Worker

Post Title: Higher & Degree Apprenticeship Outreach Worker

Status: Fixed Term until 31st July 2025. Full Time 37 hours per week

Overview

At Reaseheath College we believe in empowering the next generation to explore exciting opportunities in higher and degree apprenticeships. We’re on a mission to inspire young people to reach their full potential by connecting them with valuable career pathways. We’re looking for an enthusiastic and proactive HE Outreach Officer to join our team and lead the way in promoting these opportunities to potential students wishing to study at a higher level.

About the Role

Do you have a passion for working with young people and helping them discover their future career paths? We are seeking a dynamic Youth Engagement Officer to engage with students and promote higher and degree apprenticeship opportunities. In this role, you will play a crucial part in creating a pipeline of future apprentices, working closely with schools, colleges, and outreach partners to ensure these opportunities are accessible to all.

Key Responsibilities:

Relationship Building: Proactively develop and nurture relationships with key schools with sixth forms, colleges, teachers, careers advisers, mature students and other relevant stakeholders. Your work will align with our Schools Engagement and Marketing strategies to support access to apprenticeship opportunities.

Event Coordination & Delivery: Plan, coordinate, and deliver engaging outreach events and activities, both on-campus and in schools/off-campus locations. Focus on working with groups currently under-represented in higher education to ensure everyone has the chance to succeed.

Maximising Opportunities: Handle inbound queries from students, parents, and educators about our apprenticeship offerings. Work closely with the wider College team to promote our apprenticeship programmes and ensure that every student is aware of the opportunities available.

The Successful Candidate:

  • A background in youth engagement, education, or outreach, with experience working with young people seeking and adults seeking higher and degree level apprenticeships.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Experience in organising and delivering events or activities aimed at young people.
  • A proactive and creative approach to problem-solving and engagement.
  • Passionate about promoting equal access to education and career opportunities.

We can offer you:

  • 35 days annual leave plus bank holidays and a two-week festive/New Year shut down
  • Generous pension scheme with an employer contribution of 24.8%
  • Enhanced sick pay of up to 6 months full pay depending upon service
  • On site gym membership available
  • Pluxee reward scheme

Please note this role constitutes ‘regulated activity’ as defined by the Protection of Freedom Act 2012. The successful candidate will therefore be required to undertake an enhanced DBS check with barred list information prior to starting employment. You must have the right to work in the UK and will be required to provide evidence to support this.
