Are you a hands-on individual with a knack for maintaining a safe and clean environment? St Bede's and St Joseph's Catholic College is looking for a dedicated Caretaker to support our site team in ensuring our facilities run smoothly and efficiently.

The Role

We are seeking a proactive and reliable Caretaker to join our dedicated team. You will play a key role in maintaining the cleanliness, security, and functionality of our college premises.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all tasks are performed in line with Health and Safety Regulations.
  • Manage cleanliness, heating, lighting, and safety across the college.
  • Maintain a tidy and hygienic environment, including routine cleaning and emergency response.
  • Oversee minor repairs and maintenance of fixtures, fittings, and heating systems.
  • Operate and maintain lighting and ventilation systems.
  • Conduct regular safety checks and fire alarm tests.
  • Handle furniture movement, porterage of deliveries, and preparation for college functions.
  • Respond to emergency call-outs and perform first aid as needed.

The Ideal Candidate:

We are looking for someone with a strong background in health and safety, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage and prioritise tasks efficiently. You will:

  • Have a proven track record in maintaining compliance with Health and Safety Regulations.
  • Communicate effectively with external service providers and manage staff.
  • Understand COSH and other relevant regulatory guidelines.
  • Manage cleaning staff and prioritize workload effectively.
