Location - Rotherham

Salary - Up to £36,413 (£18,206.50 pro-rata) per annum (incl Market Force Supplement)

Hours - Part-Time - 18.5 Hrs Per Week

We have an amazing opportunity in Rotherham to train a new generation of electricians on a part-time basis with a college that truly embodies outstanding values and believes in practical training.

As the Lecturer in Electrical Installations, you will.

  • Plan and prepare, teach, and assess a range of courses and learning programmes, appropriate to your skills and qualifications.
  • Undertake the necessary administrative tasks associated with your role.
  • Prepare students for higher levels of study (including Higher Education) and vitally for the world of work, developing specific vocational work and employability skills through the curriculum.
  • Work with the Pastoral and Progression Coach and course team to make sure every student is prepared for life beyond their studies and can achieve their future education and career ambitions, as well as actively promote work experience opportunities in conjunction with work experience coordinators.
  • Play an important role in providing pre and on-course guidance that supports learners through to successful outcomes.
  • Keep up-to-date records and be responsible for student attendance, punctuality, support needs, tracking of assignments/tests, unit completion etc.
  • Have overall responsibility for the academic and pastoral care of a group or groups.
  • All work carried out must satisfy external body requirements and be in line with policy and procedure.

Skills and Experience for the role of Lecturer in Electrical Installations

  • Previous experience in teaching/training
  • You will hold a vocational qualification at Level 3 or above, as well as a relevant teaching qualification and assessors award, or be willing to work towards.
  • Be able to transfer practical experience into useful learning activities
  • Excellent communication skills and strong work ethic
  • Organised and able to meet deadlines with multiple projects happening concurrently
  • Exceptional communication skills with students, teachers, parents, and more
  • Strong attention to detail
