Communications Officer

About the role: Communications Officer

Activate Learning is looking for an energetic Communications Specialist to join our communications team. In this role, you will be responsible for creating and delivering high-quality digital and written communications tailored to diverse audiences. You'll ensure that these communications are effectively distributed through both internal and external channels, while also assisting with award submissions and campaign planning.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Proofreading and editing content
  • Managing website and social media updates
  • Collaborating with faculty to showcase student achievements

As a Communications Officer, you will play a key role in enhancing the visibility of Activate Learning and our colleges. Your main duties will involve crafting engaging communications, overseeing digital content, and maintaining consistent messaging across various platforms. You will work closely with internal teams and external partners to support key campaigns, award applications, and events.

12 month FTC, Maternity cover - Full time, City of Oxford College.

What do you need to be a successful Communications Officer at Activate Learning?

The ideal candidate for the Communications Officer role should hold a degree in communications, media, or a related creative field, or possess equivalent relevant experience. They must demonstrate proven expertise in media management and audience engagement across various platforms, including social media, photography, and video. Strong skills in proofreading, editing, and writing are crucial, as is proficiency in media editing software such as Photoshop and Premiere Pro, along with Microsoft Office 365.

You should have a solid understanding of GDPR and copyright regulations, exhibit excellent time management and interpersonal abilities, and excel in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines. A creative mindset and a passion for utilising technology to enhance communications are highly valued.
