Apprenticeship Trainer/Assessor - Animal Management (Fixed-Term, Part-Time)

About the Role

This is a part-time, fixed-term role: 14.8 hours per week until 31 August 2025.

We are looking for a teacher/assessor to join our team; the successful candidate will deliver off-the-job training to our apprentices, fully delivered remotely. This role is a part-time, fully remote position. A significant proportion of our apprentices are employed in the animal science sector, industry experience within this field is an advantage.

The successful candidate will deliver high-quality and engaging sessions, ensuring they meet the needs of the apprenticeship standard and the qualification. You will also assess learners and keep up-to-date assessment records.

The School of Animal Care and Land Management is a growing and aspirational department based at Temple Newsam in Leeds. Our team consists of a Head of Department, Deputy Head, Programme managers, Teachers, learning support assistants (LSA), pastoral coach, and Instructor/Technician. Our team works to support our learners in achieving their full potential and vocational qualifications or apprenticeships.

What You Will Do
  • Plan and deliver high quality off the job training to animal care apprentices at level 2 and 3.
  • Develop and adapt curriculum materials to meet the needs of learners.
  • Assess and provide feedback on student progress.
  • Support learners in achieving their educational goals.
  • Ensure compliance with all college policies and procedures.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the overall learning experience.
  • Ensure off the job training records are compliant with the requirements set out in the apprenticeship standard.
About You

You should be qualified to a level 3 or above with a recognised qualification. Experience within the animal science sector and experience delivering/assessing apprentices is a distinct advantage.
