About the role: Small Scale Farming Teacher
Do you have a passion for small-scale farming and a desire to share your expertise with aspiring smallholders? We're looking for an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Small-Scale Farming Teacher to lead our 10-week evening courses in the Autumn and Spring, aimed at equipping students with the practical skills and knowledge necessary for effective livestock and farm management.
These evening courses cover essential smallholding topics, providing hands-on learning experiences across Merrist Wood’s 280 hectares of diverse landscapes, including woodlands, wetlands, and grasslands. Students will gain practical skills in livestock management through activities such as lambing, cow care, poultry, goats, pigs, and machinery handling, with visits to local smallholders enriching the experience.
What do you need to be successful as a Small Scale Farming Teacher at Activate Learning?
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in small-scale farming or agricultural education, with in-depth knowledge of livestock management, including sheep, pigs, goats, cows, and poultry.
