Role: Lecturer - Countryside and Arboriculture

Location: Shuttleworth College, Old Warden

About the role:

We are currently seeking a Countryside and Arboriculture Lecturer to join The Bedford College Group at our Shuttleworth Campus, Old Warden

As a Countryside and Arboriculture Lecturer you play an important role in the success of our students through:
  • Preparing, delivering and assessing a range of Further Education Countryside provision and Arboricultural Short-courses.
  • Undertaking course administration as necessary including learner registration, assessment planning, exams entry and leadership of Countryside Level 2 and 3 courses.
  • Contributing to developments within the Programme Area/Centre.
  • Contributing to curriculum development where appropriate.
No Teaching Qualification? No problem, with significant industry or subject knowledge, as part of your employment with The Bedford College Group, we will enrol you on a teacher training

qualification.

About you:

Ideal candidates will have:
  • Degree or equivalent in Countryside Management/Arboriculture or similar.
  • Level 3 vocational qualification in Countryside/Arboriculture or related equivalent qualification..
  • GSCE Maths and English (grades A - C) or equivalent
  • Recent experience in the Countryside/Arboriculture industry
  • Experience as a teacher, trainer or instructor
  • Ability to teach students of all ages at various levels of achievement
  • Ability to communicate effectively face-to-face, on the telephone and in writing
  • Current Driving Licence and access to a vehicle
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends if required
  • Willingness to undertake staff development, including industry updating and related qualifications
