About the role:

We are currently seeking a Adult Learning Support Assistant & Cognassist Facilitator to join The Bedford College Group to cover various campuses across Bedford.

As a Adult Learning Support Assistant & Cognassist Facilitator, you play an important role in the success of our students through:
  • Facilitating and managing adult student cohorts to complete the Cognassist assessment at the start of the learner journey.
  • Being responsible for providing monthly support meetings to learners who have matched on the Cognassist assessment recording in the Cognassist platform.
  • Being an active member of the ALS Team and assisting in the development of adult students' skills and strategies to support their progress and achievement.
  • Managing a case load of students across the campus
About you:

Ideal candidates will have:
  • Level 2 Learner Support Certificate or equivalent or/ willing to work towards
  • Educated to Level 2 in Maths and English
  • Experience of providing support to individuals in an educational setting
  • Experience of using Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Access and Powerpoint)
  • Experience of working with students with learning difficulties and/or disabilities
  • An understanding of working with adult learners
  • Ability to communicate effectively face-to-face, in writing and on the telephone
  • A willingness to work at all Bedford sites
  • Responsibility for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young persons in the area and College
