Role: Lecturer - Adult English

Location: Tresham College - Northamptonshire

Salary/Benefits: Salary from £31,000 (pro rata) DOE and Qualifications, 35 days annual leave plus Bank holidays (pro rata), Teacher's pension, Retail and Leisure Discounts, excellent professional and personal development opportunities, accessing college courses.

About the role:

We are currently seeking a Lecturer in Adult English to join our ESOL and Basic Skills department at Tresham College.

As a Lecturer, you play an important role in the success of our students through:
  • Organising and conducting interviews and assessments for adult applicants, providing initial assessments, guidance, and course allocation based on outcomes.
  • Planning, preparing, and delivering teaching, learning, and assessment programs for both groups and individuals, using diverse strategies and materials.
  • Tracking, monitoring, and reporting on student progress, collaborating with course managers, subject tutors, and other relevant staff.
  • Providing necessary learner support, manage the learning process, and complete required administrative tasks, including documentation for the college and external agencies.
  • Participating in standards moderation, assessment, and marking, and measure effectiveness against various quality indicators.
About you:
  • Degree or equivalent in related subject area - English
  • Hold or be willing to work towards the DET (Diploma in Education & Training)/Cet.Ed/PGCE
  • Good all-round level of education to include Maths and English to
  • GCSE (Grade A - C) or equivalent level (Level 2)
  • Hold a minimum teaching qualification specific to teaching English
  • Demonstrable knowledge of Equality and Diversity
  • Demonstrable experience & success in teaching English at a range of levelsGood communication skills
  • Focused on achieving outstanding retention and success rates
  • Full driver's license and access to own vehicle to enable travel across three sites
