We are currently seeking a Curriculum Manager to lead a team of Course Leaders and Lecturers in ensuring consistent achievement of key performance indicators across all areas of the curriculum. 
 

The successful candidate will play a crucial role in driving quality assurance and improvement activities related to teaching, learning, and assessment to deliver an exceptional experience for all stakeholders. 
 

Essential qualities for this role include significant experience in curriculum design and development in collaboration with employers and other stakeholders, exceptional teaching skills, and a proven track record in staff development and performance improvement. Effective communication and leadership skills, along with the ability to manage multiple curriculum areas to meet strategic and operational expectations, are also essential.

Key Responsibilities

- Managing a team of course leaders and lecturers
 - Ensuring key performance indicators are consistently achieved
 - Undertaking quality assurance activities related to teaching, learning, and assessment
 - Teaching 6 hours per week
 - Gaining an accurate view of the quality of teaching and learning to implement successful intervention strategies
 - Managing curriculum areas to meet the college's expectations
 - Ensuring learner recruitment, achievement, progress, attendance, and punctuality are met
 - Self-assessing the quality of provision and implementing action plans for improvement
 - Overseeing well-planned teaching and systematic learner understanding
 - Providing accurate reports about curriculum performance
 - Overseeing the production of timetables
 - Ensuring internal and external verification activities are undertaken
 - Keeping up-to-date with industry requirements and leading activities to assess the quality of teaching and learning
 

Essential Criteria

  • A minimum of a level 3 qualification in a relevant curriculum area.
  •  A Cert Ed or equivalent.
  •  Experience of managing/coordinating complex projects from inception to successful completion
  •  Thorough understanding of quality assurance processes relating to teaching learning & assessment.
  •  Understanding of value added and the use of assessment outcomes to accurately determine learner starting points and support substantial and sustained progress.
  •  An understanding of the opportunities and challenges applicable to the curriculum areas within scope of responsibility.
  •  Evidence of delivering outstanding teaching and learning.
  •  Experience of challenging staff to improve performance and implementing action plans to support improvement.
  •  Experience in producing effective written and verbal reports that analyse curriculum performance.
  •  Track record of successfully managing internal and external verification activity.
  •  Evidence of a solution-focused approach to effectively managing student conduct and behaviour issues.
