£25,869 - £26,491 per annum, pro rata

We are recruiting for a well organised Agriculture Instructor to join the farm team at Common Leys Farm campus.

You should have the relevant skills and experience to provide a high standard of animal husbandry for a range of farm livestock whilst also supporting students to develop a high level of employability skills.

As an Agriculture Instructor you will:

Work with a range of farm livestock: You will be responsible for hight standards of livestock health and welfare (sheep, pigs, cattle and poultry) and provide for their daily husbandry needs.

Work with young people to develop their employability skills for the agriculture sector: You must enjoy working with young people and be confident working with and supervising students in a wide variety of routine duties and practical animal husbandry tasks.

Carry out general farm estate maintenance: You should also be able to help staff and students in wider farm maintenance activities including fencing and tractor driving.

Collaborate with colleagues: You would be part of a dedicated, flexible team of lecturers, instructors, technicians, and support staff based at the farm, to enhance the student experience.

The role is part time and includes working weekends and bank holidays in a rota system with the farm staff.
