Learning Support Worker - Fixed Term

About the Role:

The Learning Support Worker will be required to support learners with EHCPs who have support and learning needs. Students range from those with moderate learning disabilities, Autistic spectrum, social, emotional, and mental health needs (SEMH). The role will have elements of 1-1 support as well as group work to help achieve the academic needs of these students. Working with the wider ALS team, the role will involve creating relationships with students that encourages their academic, emotional and social growth.

About you:
You will have some experience supporting young people with disabilities and/or learning difficulties in an education setting. You will be able to support and encourage higher levels of social skills and demonstrate techniques that improve learning. You will be patient, empathetic and be adept at de-escalation where necessary. You will be able to understand the needs of the students and provide the appropriate support to develop their ability to learn efficiently. You will be able to work in a team and provide sufficient support to the classroom lead.
