Role: Senior Chef Manager

Location: Central Bedfordshire College, Dunstable

Salary/Benefits: Salary from £29,000 (Pro Rata) DOE and Qualifications , Peoples pension, Retail and Leisure Discounts, excellent professional and personal development opportunities, accessing college courses.

Working Pattern: 24hrs per week (0.6 FTE) Monday/Wednesday/Friday

About the role:

We are currently seeking a Senior Chef Manager to join The Bedford College Group at the Central Bedfordshire College, Dunstable.

As a Senior Chef Manager, you will oversee the Chef Managers/Senior Assistants on the day to day running of the kitchen team and assist the Catering Manager and Chef Manager and the Senior Assistant in managing and supervising the entire food production for the Bedford College Services Ltd outlet, achieving and exceeding Bedford College Services' standards.

About you:

Ideal candidates will have:
  • Level 2 Kitchen, Larder or Vocational experience. (3+ years of supervisory level.
  • Hygiene Qualification at Level 3
  • English and Mathematics or similar at GCSE grade A-C or equivalent or willingness to achieve English and Mathematics at Level 2 or equivalent
  • Experienced in training subordinates in food preparation and excellent knowledge of menu structure.
  • Experience of planning, managing and delivering to time and budget.

  • Good IT skills, particularly Word and Excel
  • Ability to be creative and come up with new ideas.
