Reed Education are currently looking for Teachers, Teaching Assistants and Cover Supervisors to support school across Berkshire throughout the new academic year.

As a member of the cover team, you would be supporting students in their lessons in the absence of their usual teacher. You will be using pre-planned materials to ensure that the students do no miss out on their learning. You are there to make sure that they have continuity in their education, to report safeguarding concerns, to manage the classroom and any challenging behaviours throughout the lessons. There is no requirement for you to be an expert on the subject you are teaching, as there is no expectation that you will be completing any planning or preparation work. Obviously knowing a subject is a bonus, but is not essential!

If you are a UK or overseas qualified teacher looking for subject specific cover work, then the Reed team can work with you to find you a long-term post teaching the subject that you know the best. This means that you will always be working, picking up experience in a range of schools without any of the hassle of finding your next post.

In order to be a successful supply teacher, you will need to be an intuitive and creative teacher who is able to 'jump in at the deep end' in any school. You will need to be able to effectively manage the classroom and deal with any behaviours in an effective way in line with school policy. Holding UK Qualified Teacher Status is desirable but is not essential as being an overseas qualified teacher or someone with classroom experience is sufficient.

As a teacher or member of the supporting classroom staff working with Reed, you have access to some of the best schools in the Berkshire areas. You will be paid leading rates weekly, and will be made aware of any ongoing CPD that you will require after registration. You will receive yearly Safeguarding training along with other mandatory courses and training once in role.
